Entering his seventh
consecutive season as Head Coach, Perry Pooley is remembered as
one of the all-time greatest, Ohio State University hockey players,
earning All-Conference, All-American and "All Century Team" honors
while playing as a Buckeye.
Pooley
was the 5th leading scorer in the nation and helped OSU to their
first #1 national ranking in November 1983. Coach Pooley was
a 4-year letterman and an Academic All-American, earning a
degree in Business with majors in both accounting and marketing and
maintaining a 3.39 GPA.
In
1984, he served as OSU's captain and was voted the team's "Best
Sportsman". Pooley is also remembered for playing alongside
his twin brother, Paul, who is now the assistant coach at Notre Dame
University.
From
1984-86, Pooley played for the Winnipeg Jets in the AHL, where they
won the Calder Cup, and later in the New York Rangers farm system in
Ontario. He currently runs his family's real estate business
as well as PsP Net Solutions, an Internet sales and marketing
company. Pooley and his wife Sharon, have two boys and reside
in Dublin.
