1st Period
The Rocks picked up right where they left off the game before playing much more physical and high intensity. Early on Anthony Rogers looked determined to get pressure on the Elks as he is flying, and net minder Kerry Schwable has too make to point blank saves off of Rogers to keep the 0-0. The Rocks continue to get loose pucks as Jeffrey Hoover and Jonathon Priest continue to bang Elks players all over the ice. The game plan is working as the Rocks are coming on and with 6 minutes left Stephen Panchyshyn makes a heads up play sending  a perfect pass onto Chris Ridgway's stick and Ridgway pulls up short and feeds Rogers in the Slot, Rogers goes to the back hand and beats Schwable blocker side, 1-0 Rocks. The goal sends the Rocks into a shooting frenzy but as the night before the goaltender stones everyone to keep the game 1-0 at the end of the first. Rocks out shot the Elks 9-3.

2nd Period
The break came at the right time for the Elks and the first 5 minutes is end to end action, solid hits all over the ice but very little in chances for either side. With 8:27 left the Rocks explode after a devastating hit by Jeffrey Hoover at the Elks blue line that finally breaks thru on Schwable, Andy O'Brien lays the puck in behind the net to Rogers, Rogers stops short and feeds the puck in front where O'Brien drills a low shot, Schwable gets his pad on the puck but Chris Ridgway is on the door step and he stuffs the puck for a 2-0 lead. 2 minutes later Evan Bowdy keeps the puck in at the line and sends a pass over to Ridgway, Ridgway sends Rogers in alone and Rogers dekes Schwable to bury his 2nd 3-0 Rocks. 1:15 later Jimmy Wall steals a puck in the neutral zone and crosses the Elks blue line, he does a 360 turn and his blistering shot beats Schwable up high and the Rocks are up 4-0. Shortly after the goal was scored Ridgway steals another puck off a Elk defenseman and he wires a shot over Schwable short side and the Rocks are rolling, 5-0. Rocks out shot the Elks
10-8.

3rd Period
Rocks send Alex Rogers to the showers early and replace him with Colin Eberhart. Eberhart who has come into his own the last couple of games clearly had to show the improvement was not by chance. The Elks upset after 2 periods come out flying and a Rocks team seemingly thinking the game may be over let Eberhart show his stuff and show he does as the Elks bombard him with shots. For the first half of the period Eberhart is standing on his head as he Robs player after player including an outstanding pad save off the Elks leading point getter this season. Protecting the lead never seems to work and so the Rocks come a live again and get back to playing physical Hoovers ninth hit of the night opens a lane again the loose puck is picked up by Matt Zacharias who sends a pass up to Ridgway at the Elks blue line, Ridgway lays a pass in the middle of the Elks zone and Rogers unleashes a slap shot that beats Schwable clean, Rogers 3rd completing the hat trick, 6-0 Rocks. The Elks press to get something on the board and head down the ice 2 on 1 but they get denied again when Gregory Strine makes a gem of play laying his leg out to stop a breakaway and the Rocks keep the goose egg on the board. Elks defenseman Brian Hickson spoils the night when he gets a pass off a face off win in the Rocks zone, and sends a puck thru a melee of players in front of Eberhart, somehow the puck beats the young net minder and the Elks cut the lead by 1, 6-1 Rocks. With a minute to go the Rocks get that one back as Ryan Cohagen makes a super play at the Elks blue line, and feeds Andy O'Brien, O'Brien does wait a second and his quick shot goes top shelf completing the scoring 7-1 Rocks. Rocks were out shot by the Elks 14-4 in the 3rd and 25-23 overall.

Rocks Highlights:
Rocks continued the physical game today, led by Hoover and the offence came out in full force from the big line as they capture a 10 point night. Rocks seemed to pick up the intensity this weekend and are starting to come together as a team. The Rocks next see action Wednesday January 16th, vs St. Charles Cardinals in a Capital Hockey conference league game, 15
:00 pm, Ice Haus.
