1st Period
The Rocks faced another North division team Friday night and knowing the competition is always tough came out ready to go. Chris Ridgway chips a puck out at the Rocks blue line Sam O'Brien grabs it and heads up through the neutral zone, O'Brien sees Anthony Rogers and feeds the puck over, Rogers drills a quick shot and beats Wayne net minder, Delong, 1-0 Rocks just 34 seconds into the game. At the 12:35 mark Anthony Rogers carries the puck into the Generals end, goes wide on a d-man as he is going in behind the net he puts a pass behind his back, short-side, Delong is keeping track of Rogers and leaves the short-side post Chris Ridgway is coming in behind Rogers and has an easy tap in goal, 2-0 Rocks. Rocks change troops of the goal and from the center ice face-off, Jordan Edmonds wins the draw over to Jeff Hoover, Hoover takes the puck into the Generals end along the boards, shows great patience and sends a pin point pass across the net to Andy O'Brien, O'Brien deflects the pass top shelf and just 7 seconds after the last goal the Rocks score again, 3-0 Rocks. The teams traded opportunities for the balance of the period leaving the Rocks out shooting the Generals 10-8
.

2nd Period
The early lead did not stop the Rocks from pouring it on in the 2nd, the Rocks just could not solve Delong who made several point blank saves in the first 8 minutes of the period. Rocks take a penalty, the first of the game, and the Generals set up nicely in the Rocks zone, time for Alex Rogers to shine and he does, as the Generals are gaining momentum from the advantage Rogers is stopping all chances including two point blank shots from Generals forward Dybala. The Rocks kill the penalty but the pressure is still on and once again Dybala is left untouched to the left of Rogers, Dybala snipes Rogers to the short side and the game tightens, 3-1 Rocks. Alex Rogers is called upon again with 4 minutes to go as he makes a huge save on a 3 on 1 flaring out the big pad after a picture perfect 3-way passing play, Holding the Rocks up 3-1 at the end of the 2nd. Rocks out shot the Generals
16-7.

3rd Period
The 3rd started pretty much the same as the first two periods with Rocks coming out hard and dominating play at 4:31 the Rocks extended their lead. While Delong had made several huge saves already in this contest he may have wanted this one back, off a face-off in the Generals end Andy O'Brien is left all alone at the hash marks, Edmonds wins the draw right to O'Brien's tape and the Junior forward slides a shot along the ice that beats Delong 5-hole, 4-1 Rocks. Coffman is controlling the game and with 7 minutes left get on the board again, this time the 3rd line comes up big, Tyler Anderson is fore checking the Generals into a panic, the puck is thrown towards the blue line where Stephen Panchyshyn is waiting, Panchyshyn steps up dipsy doodles around the first General forward, makes a nifty move around the 2nd forward and wires a slapshot that Delong just gets a pad on, a hard charging Jonathon Priest follows up the play with a great effort even to get to the net, and bangs home the rebound, 5-1 Rocks. While the game is winding down the Generals, who have worked hard all night, finally are rewarded for their effort, the Rocks are running around in their own zone chasing Seipel, the crafty center man takes a blistering shot from the right circle and Rogers again makes a huge save this time leaves a rebound to the waiting stick of Dybala, makes no mistake and buries the puck to the open side, for Dybala his 2nd of the night, 5-2 Rocks. 40 seconds later the Generals take the puck into the Rocks zone, Barnes passes the puck from the corner to Ankenbrandt, what seems a simple wrist shot from the boards, somehow sneaks past Rogers on the short side, Rogers clearly screened had little chance and the Generals late surge keeps the contest close, final 5-3 Rocks.
Rocks were out shot 10-8 in the 3rd but out shot the Generals 34-25 overall.

Rocks Highlights:
Jordan Edmonds line with Jeff Hoover and Andy O'Brien stepped up today with a 6 point night, but the 3rd line may have made the difference today with Tyler Anderson, Ryan Cohagen and Jonathon Priest, they out hustled out shot and controlled their opponents all night including scoring a big goal that may have taken the sails out of the Generals. Next up, Rocks play host to another Northwest conference team, the powerful Northview Wildcats, Sunday at 5:10 pm, Dublin Chiller.
